MRPeasy is what people reach for when Katana is too expensive: real manufacturing planning at $49 per user per month, aimed by its own headline at companies of 10 to 200 employees. Unlike most MRPs it does hold a customer prepayment, as an invoice allocated against the order. The difference is what surrounds that — before a commission can be an order it has to be a part with a bill of materials, which is a setup cost per piece.

We make Ordamo, so we are an interested party. What we can be is checkable: written by the people who built it for their own furniture studio in Buenos Aires, every price taken from the other side’s own page with the date we read it, and their wins listed above ours.
| MRPeasy | Ordamo | |
|---|---|---|
| Built around | A small factory: parts, bills of materials, routings, procurement | Orders: deposits, balances, batch cost |
| Priced by | Each user, on four tiers | The business, on one plan |
| Who it says it is for | Companies with 10 to 200 employees, in its own headline | One to ten people who sell before they build |
| Deposit and balance on one order | Yes — a prepayment invoice, allocated to the order, then a final invoice | Both, with dates, recorded on the order without issuing anything |
| A piece you will build once | Needs a part and a bill of materials; custom bills of materials start on the $69 tier | A line and a price — there is nothing to define first |
| Cost of that piece | From its bill of materials and routing, labour included | On the order line, and a received batch writes what the run really cost onto its products |
| Material requirements planning | Yes — this is what it is for | No |
| A page the customer can open | A B2B portal on the $69 tier: login, catalogue, cart, invoices | One link per order, no login, updates itself |
| Entry price | $49 per user, per month | $29 a month, however many of you there are |
| What makes the bill grow | Each new user, and the tier a feature happens to sit in | Nothing |

MRPeasy is unusual among manufacturing systems in modelling a prepayment properly: you issue a prepayment invoice, and the final invoice shows the prepaid amount and lets you allocate it. That is correct bookkeeping, and a document per stage. What a workshop wants is thinner — the deposit and the balance as two facts on the order, totalled across everything still open.
An MRP reasons about parts. Before a one-off dining table is an order it is a part number with a bill of materials under it, and the custom-bill-of-materials feature that makes per-order variation bearable is Professional-tier, at $69 per user. Worth the hour for a product you will make fifty times. A ritual for one you will make once, forty times a year.
Starter is $49 per user, Professional $69, Enterprise $99, Unlimited $149 with a two-user minimum — and the sorting is by feature, not by size. Serial numbers, quality control and the B2B portal are Professional; barcode scanning and multiple production sites are Enterprise; API access is Unlimited. Bring on a second person and the whole bill moves.
"Ideal for companies with 10 - 200 employees" is MRPeasy's own line, and the pricing page agrees with it: training at $150 an hour, advanced support from $199 to $499 a month. That is the shape of a product bought by a company with someone to run the implementation. Below that floor you are not getting a cheaper Katana, you are getting the same job you did not have.
From $49/user/mo
Starter, per user, one user minimum. Professional is $69 per user and Enterprise $99; Unlimited is $149 with a two-user minimum and is the tier carrying API and webhooks. From the eleventh user the published rate is $79 per ten users. Annual billing gives one month free. Training is $150 an hour, and advanced support runs $199 to $499 a month. The trial is 15 days plus 15, with no card.

What is in the planWe are not the only answer, and pretending otherwise wastes your afternoon.
Manufacturing for a floor with staff on it: work orders, scheduling, capacity. From $299 a month before add-ons.
OdooA modular ERP for running the whole business on one system. One app free, then $8.95 per user a month.
Craftybase, now StocksmithMaterials, recipes and cost of goods for makers who hold stock, with lot traceability. From $20 a month, with its real tiers from $83 billed annually.
The whole categorySix families of tool, what each one answers, and the three questions that pick between them.
Four per-user tiers: Starter $49, Professional $69, Enterprise $99, and Unlimited $149 with a two-user minimum. One user is the minimum on the first three, the eleventh user onwards is published at $79 per ten users, and annual billing gives one month free. Training is $150 an hour and advanced support $199 to $499 a month. Confirm the current position on mrpeasy.com before deciding on the strength of a number here.
Yes, and more properly than most manufacturing software. You issue a prepayment invoice against the customer order, and the later final invoice shows the prepaid amount with the allocation adjustable. The limit is not capability, it is weight: it is an invoicing routine per order, where a workshop usually wants the deposit and the balance recorded as facts on the order and summed across everything open.
For made-to-order in the manufacturing sense — configurable products built from a known set of parts — yes, and custom bills of materials on the Professional tier are built for exactly that. For one-off bespoke work, where the piece has never existed before and will not again, you are defining a new part for every order, and that is the cost nobody quotes you.
No, and it would be a bad one. No material requirements planning, no routings, no capacity, no shop-floor reporting, and no stock beyond a units-in-stock count per product that you adjust by hand. It holds the order, the deposit, the balance, what a production run cost per piece and what the order earned. If the bottleneck is planning the build, MRPeasy is the right answer and this is not.
Both are manufacturing systems; the gap is price and size. MRPeasy publishes from $49 per user with a one-user minimum and aims at 10 to 200 employees. Katana starts at $299 a month for its Core plan with the traceability, manufacturing-management and warehouse modules billed on top. If you need MRP at all and you are small, MRPeasy is the cheaper of the two by a distance.
MRPeasy itself gives 15 days free, extendable by another 15, with no card — enough to find out. As a standing free option, Odoo's One App Free tier covers a single app with unlimited users, and a spreadsheet or a Notion base still works until deposits and per-order margin become weekly questions. Nothing purpose-built in this category has a free tier you could run a workshop on.
It has a B2B customer portal on the Professional tier: your customer logs in, browses a catalogue, places and reorders, and sees their invoices. That is built for trade accounts who order from you repeatedly. It is a different thing from what a private client on a sixteen-week build wants, which is a link that opens and shows where their one order is.
Yes, and for a business with a repeat catalogue and a bespoke line it is the sensible arrangement. MRPeasy plans and buys; Ordamo holds the commission and the money against it. Little gets entered twice beyond the customer's name.
Export open customer orders to CSV and import the file as it comes — no template, the columns are read for you. Record the prepayment already taken on each one, add the batches currently in production, then start new orders here and let the open ones finish where they are. There is no cutover day.
The units are different: MRPeasy is priced per user per month from $49, Ordamo is $29 a month for the business regardless of headcount. So it depends on how many of you there are, and on nothing else — nothing in Ordamo is metered and there are no tiers to climb. As always, cheaper only counts if it is the tool you needed.
Ask what you are trying to fix. Planning and purchasing, at a lower price: there is not much below MRPeasy, and the honest answer may be to stay. One system for the whole business: Odoo. Materials and cost of goods for stocked products: Craftybase, now Stocksmith. Orders that wait, get paid in parts and need a margin each: that is what Ordamo does at $29 a month.
Tier names, per-user prices, the two-user minimum on Unlimited, the $79 per ten users bulk rate, training and support add-ons and the 15 + 15 day trial read from mrpeasy.com/pricing on 9 September 2026, with the "ideal for companies with 10 - 200 employees" line from its home page and the prepayment-invoice and B2B-portal behaviour from its own user manual.
